So I bought this bike for my mom who's 80 years young and has been riding road bikes for years before trike bike last year.
She had a steel trike last year which she said was to heavy for her and not fast enough. So I did some research and found the JC-70 Tadpole Recumbent Trike all aluminum frame. The bike looked like it was manufactured very well of what I could tell from videos on YouTube. It also showed a hour video of how to assemble the bike. Now trike bikes are definitely not road bikes as I had found out last year when I assembled her steel trike bike however the video that Upzy post looked very simple especially if you are somewhat handy to put things together. Unfortunately the JC-70 I received had some new modifications that did not show on the very poor instructions that came in the box. Even on the YouTube video it didn't show how to adjust the new front curved stabilizing bar instead of the old straight model one. There were some other challenges putting this bike together especially if this is not you Primary job. So after about 8 hours instead of the 1 hour video the bike was ready to ride. Since my mom is 80 I ordered the mesh seat which I had to make two brackets for so the back of the seat would sit more straight up. The adjustable brackets that came with it only gives you a minimum range for adjusting.
All together I still give this bike a 5 star since it rides great and is well manufactured and competes with higher end trikes costing almost double the price.
My mom loves the bike and says it rides very smooth. The only negative things I think could be improved are the instruction manual and the mesh seat that has minimum option to adjust otherwise a great buy.
