A tandem recumbent bicycle is a perfect way to get out on the road with a fellow cycling enthusiast. This unique design is recumbent (laid back) in the front and regular positioning in the rear. It’s a great way to introduce someone to the recumbent biking experience. With the rear rider steadying the bike, the front rider settles in the front and off you go.
Riding A Recumbent Tandem:
If you are new to recumbents and tandems, there is a bit of a learning curve. The regular bicycle seat in the rear is the captain’s seat from where the controlling of the tandem is done. This is reversed on a regular bicycle tandem. The front recumbent rider is to sit still and join in the pedaling. Please measure the x-seam since the front leg reach is not for a tall rider.
