Nice recumbent bike

First time riding this kind of bike. I'm slowly getting use to it. However, I did find out I'll need to get a cushion for my back due to bulged discs. I'm still having trouble going between gears. Seems like it may need more breaking in.

I love my new trike!

It’s so easy on my back! I’ve had two major back surgeries and four hand/wrist surgeries. I will warn you that it’s difficult to put together no matter what they say. We had to hire a bank store to do it for $175. But it was worth it.

Fine product, post sales service? Upzy has heard of it.

The trike was delivered as promised. Once assembled, it has proven to be a quality, well-designed product. The key issue was assembling it. The photocopied assembly instructions that were included in the product packaging were nearly useless to anyone other than a bicycle mechanic.

I contacted Upzy to ask for help or for a pointer to an online video showing how all of the pieces fit together. When I didn’t get a timely answer, I contacted Trailmate. It appears that Trailmate is not used to being contacted by an end-user. They usually work with bicycle shops having mechanics able to take the sketchy assembly instructions and build a working bike. No, they don’t offer videos.

Eventually I was able to speak with one of Trailmate's engineers. At first, he tried to send me back to Upzy. When I mentioned that I had contacted them and hadn’t gotten an answer, he offered to send an email containing a step-by-step set of instructions but no photos. Even after I received the message, I still wasn’t able to figure out how all of the pieces fit together. I guess that I"m technically challenged.

I eventually hired a local mechanic. With his help, we were able to assemble the bike in a few hours. Once he showed me how the diagrams included in the assembly instructions worked, I was able to see how the pieces fit together.

In the end, my recommendation is that if you are a bicycle mechanic, purchasing a kit bicycle from Upzy might be a good decision. If you aren’t a bike mechanic, I’d suggest continuing your Internet search to find a company offering better post-sales support.

Hi Dan, thanks for your in-depth and informative review. Apologies for any inconvenience caused on your order! In terms of aftersales, we get back to all our customers as soon as we can. I see you had sent us an email asking for assembly assistance, and we responded the next day. If we didn't get back to you fast enough, we're really sorry about that. In terms of assembly, yes, having some technical experience is useful in assembling the Meteor. Some customers are able to assemble the Meteor themselves using the instructions given, and some opt to hire a local professional. Regardless, we want to make sure you're happy with your order! If you require further assistance, feel free to reach out to aftersales@upzy.com. Thank you Dan

Best Bike Ever

I love-love-love my recumbent trike!! My husband put it together for me (he knows how to do these things--otherwise I would recommend a bike shop). Took him a few hours (basket, as well). Once it was complete, the bike had to be adjusted to me--moving seat back, adjusting the back to my comfort and adjusting the handlebars (that took three times to get my proper angle. Yes, the handlebars can be tilted forward so it's not like your arms are on ape-hangers. SO happy with the ordering, the shipping/delivery and the bike. Worth the $$$.

Hi Janet! We're so glad you love your Trailmate Meteor trike! Here's to many happy years of riding :)
